The chief executives of the nation’s greatest banks kick off two days of congressional testimony on Wednesday before the Senate Banking Committee.

Lawmakers will hear from JPMorgan Chase’s Jamie Dimon, Wells Fargo’s Charles Scharf, Citi’s Jane Fraser and Goldman Sachs’ David Solomon, Morgan Stanley’s James Gorman and Bank of America’s Brian Moynihan.

The bank executives are more likely to face complaints from each political events, with Democrats hoping to deal with racial variations in lending and Republicans desperate to quell firms from taking stands on political points.

Sen. Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania, the committee’s rating Republican, advised CNBC before the Senate listening to that he’s hoping the bankers will “defend capitalism” and tout the advantages of inventory buybacks.

Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, who chairs the committee, will seemingly ask the executives about decreasing race-based disparities in lending, in addition to banks’ efforts to assist native companies in the course of the Covid-19 pandemic.
