A researcher in Cyprus has found a pressure of the coronavirus that combines the delta and omicron variant, Bloomberg News reported on Saturday.
Leondios Kostrikis, professor of organic sciences on the University of Cyprus, known as the pressure “deltacron,” due to its omicron-like genetic signatures throughout the delta genomes, Bloomberg mentioned.
So far, Kostrikis and his staff have discovered 25 instances of the virus, based on the report. It’s nonetheless too early to inform whether or not there are extra instances of the pressure or what impacts it may have.
